This family photograph collection documents the Harry & Etta Lashkowitz family primarily in snapshots and some formal photographs. The family series has been divided into files on Harry & Etta, family groups, gatherings & trips, and on each of their children from childhood to adult. The people and buildings files include their home, greeting cards, and several portraits. The Jane Lashkowitz photographs include local scenes and from her travels in Chicago, Florida, Mississippi and Washington, D.C. There are also autographed portraits of George Malone & Stan Musial.

Harry Lashkowitz was born in the Ukraine in 1889, immigrating to the U.S.A. with his parents in 1896. The family moved to Fargo, N.D. in 1905. After completing law school in New York in 1912, Harry returned to Fargo to establish a law practice. He married Etta Levitz in 1917. She was born at Devils Lake, N.D. Harry was active in politics, the Democratic Party, B'nai B'rith, and other civic organizations. He died at Fargo in 1963 and Etta in 1971. They had four children, Herschel, Jane, Lorraine,...
